Peer Education - cooperative learning with regard to school requirements, values education and social skills with the aim of self-socialisation.
The goal of this project is to use peer learning as a method to promote students´ participation, self-initiative, self-determination and autonomy as well as to develop project materials to support schools whose pupils have to deal with different values and attitudes among each other.
Positive elements should be incorporated into the lessons in order to lead the pupils to a positive value attitude to prevent early dropout of the participants. Assisting students should acquire the social skills needed in the workplace to increase job opportunities in the European community and to eliminate inequality, so that newcomers in their new homeland have real opportunities to be successful in the labour market. These goals are the reason to train tutors (teachers and students) with the help of peer learning, then to improve other students and teachers´ skills in social competences, such as job interviews and letters of application as well as values, the necessary professional skills and abilities.
Another aim of this project is to create work materials (worksheets, guides - Word / PDF documents) for teachers and students to train peer learning tutors with the following content: value teaching, subject skills (language, economic subjects), and social skills. The guides for job interviews and letters of application will be based on a research made by peer learning tutors because there are different requirements in each project participant´s country.
All project partners will make an overview of values based on a survey and its evaluation. This will be done through questionnaires for collecting current values in order to design the contents of the different working materials for peer education. Certificates for tutors, pupils and teachers of further education should ensure spreading of the content at all project-participating schools. During the project duration, learning, teaching and training activities will take place in four partner schools.
